Gabriella Ingram designs occasion handbags luxury sustainable items handcrafted in limited editions of between 2 and 25 in London and Berlin. Very much not traditional leather bags they take their inspiration from the different materials she works with from etched stainless steel, acrylic, wood to natural acrylic stone. All the designs are minutely thought out down to their unique fastening systems.
Gabriella is also a costume designer for the theatre and her theatricality has been retained in the bags which she began just over 3 years ago. She has so far produced 6 collections, all show her preoccupation with combining old and new; 18th century lace has been recreated in etched nickel silver and antique drawer handles have been given a new lease of life on wooden bags. A fusion between art and fashion the handbags can be found in galleries on Madison Avenue, New York or fashion stores in Hong Kong. Last year saw a major solo exhibition at the Museum of Bags and Purses in Amsterdam.
